Wear-Resistant Grade for High-Temp Applications
Seco Tools’ TP0500 turning grade features a wear-resistant Duratomic coating.
Seco Tools’ TP0500 turning grade features a wear-resistant Duratomic coating. The grade is suited for steel machining operations with stable cutting conditions and a lot of generated heat. It is said to be especially useful for applications requiring high metal-removal rates, such as machining large components for the power generation segment and high-speed, high productivity applications for the automotive sector.
Its Duratomic coating, in combination with a plastic-deformation-resistant, fine-grained substrate, provides wear resistance. According to the company, the coating is tougher and harder than traditional ones, and the coated inserts run cooler than those with conventional aluminum oxide coating. This lessens crater wear and deformation of the cutting edge while increasing tool life.
The grade is available in a complete range of chipbreaker geometries, including negative inserts, positive inserts and high-feed wiper inserts.
