Jenoptik’s Jenoptik-Votan BIM is a robot-based 3D metalcutting laser machine that is said to be highly flexible, fast processing and cost effective. The machine’s laser robot arm features an optical fiber only in the stationary robot shoulder, and the laser beam path is totally integrated. The laser light is guided by mirrors during the cutting process. The fiber’s immobility preserves its condition, avoiding costly maintenance and replacement, the company says. The slim, 5-kg light laser cutting head enables accessibility into tight locations, high path accuracies and high speed 3D metal processing. The machine is suitable for the automotive industry, white goods fabrication and reservoir construction.
Also on display will be the company’s JenLas fiber cw 1000, a single-mode high power fiber laser system.
