The collaborative AMC display includes global aerospace leader, Boeing and their advanced research and development unit, Phantom Works. Joining Boeing as presenters are leading North American metalworking publication, Modern Machine Shop and internationally-acclaimed research outfit, the University of Sheffield’s Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC).
The AMC will showcase a Boeing 787 Dreamliner interior; a machined parts display by Boeing Phantom Works; ten “disruptive” technologies from innovative manufacturing suppliers; and, media displays from MMS and the AMRC.
On Wednesday, September 10th, the AMC will feature aerospace machining presentations delivered by representatives from Boeing Phantom Works. The presentations will focus on aluminum and titanium machining for aerospace and will be held at 10:00am and 1:00pm, respectively.
Visitors to the Advanced Manufacturing Center are invited to participate in the “In Flight” contest, which offers IMTS attendees a chance to win a 1:100 scale model of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner or an iPod touch. T-shirts will be given to the first 500 registrants each day. Visitors can register at Booth F-2001.
