Northfield Precision’s 5C collet chuck is interchangeable with its 4" chucks. The air-actuated chuck uses standard air-feed tubes (wet or dry), and the same bolt pattern as the 4" models. It can run at speeds faster than 8,000 rpm. All components are hardened and ground to 58/3 R.C., and all diameters are ground within 1/10,000 TIR. The chuck uses standard 5C collets.
The company’s air chucks are suited for virtually any lathe, boring machine, grinder or VMC. Models include through-hole, high speed and quick-change. The chuck is available in SAE or metric sizes ranging from 3" to 18" (76 to 457 mm). Accuracies range from 0.001" to 0.00001" (0.254 m).
