See a live demonstration of automated induction heating in Ambrell Precision Induction Heating’s Booth N-6042. A Fanuc robot picks up ½-inch stainless steel tubes and places them in an encapsulated coil. The tube is heated for just over 10 seconds by an Ambrell 2-kW “Easyheat” induction system. When preheated, the robot removes the tube. The company says this is a scaled-down demonstration of a fastener preheating application. In a production environment, the preheated tube would proceed to be hot headed or forged.
