Amada America’s Astro 165W NT robotic bending system is designed for safe, precise bending of large parts and thick materials, while reducing labor and processing costs. The system’s configuration is built on the company’s HDS press brake, an eco-friendly, electric/hydraulic, down-acting system that features a hybrid drive designed for low energy consumption and requiring less hydraulic fluid than conventional machines.

The system’s ram is capable of repeatability to within tolerances of ± 0.00004". For precise bending control at virtually any position, a five-axis backgage provides continuously updated feedback to the AMNC/PC control, where exact positioning can be viewed at any time.

According to the company, the robotic bending system provides precision and reliability combined with cost-saving implications including saved work ours, eliminated manual tool setup, decreased maintenance costs and expanded process-range applications.
