The company offers an indexable-insert-style broaching tool for use in CNC machining centers. The TiN-coated carbide insert is designed to last longer than brazed-carbide inserts. The tool design enables the insert to be removed, rotated or replaced while the tool remains locked in the turret. According to the company, this can potentially save 10 to 15 min. of setup time.
The insert and its pocket design provide stable cutting to eliminate chatter, the company says. The removable carbide inserts can be replaced as more parts are cut, which increases tool life. Nine off-the-shelf sizes of broaching tools and inserts are available.
