Mitutoyo America’s AOS Absolute Digimatic calipers are equipped with the company’s advanced onsite sensor (AOS) technology, said to improve measurement dependability by increasing resistance to harsh workshop conditions. An electromagnetic inductive sensor repels dirt, oil and water that can cause false readings and is said to eliminate the need to set the reference when the tool is powered. According to Mitutoyo, the calipers offer an ergonomic slider design and increased battery life of more than 3 years under normal conditions.
The calipers are based on the company’s 500 series of ABS calipers, and the data output models are compatible with existing Mitutoyo Digimatic peripherals, including SPC cables and U-wave wireless transmitters. A 9-mm LCD display and low battery alarm are available on all models. Additionally, some models can be equipped with carbide jaws for rough-machined workpieces, castings, grindstones and more.
