CAM Update Includes Variety of Applications

Vero’s Visi 19 software for the mold and die industries features an updated GUI with improved user interaction, blending capabilities, improved annotation, advanced profile offset, graphical texture mapping and support for the JT Open File format.

Based on the Visi Modelling platform, the software includes a variety of applications, such as Visi Mould for multi-level tool design, the Visi Flow prediction tool and Visi Progress for designing progressive dies and press tools. Enhancements to Visi Mould include an assembly tool manager that handles multi-level tool structures and the ability to generate specific tree-hierarchy structures for the creation of partial BOM lists. Visi Flow includes a part-quality tool with remedy suggestions for each problem area and improved filling analyses and flow balancing. Visi Progress enhancements for sheet-metal stamping include three dedicated routines to manage complex springback based on results from CMM machines, third-party FEA systems and bend-section geometry.

The software features CAM routines including HM rib cutting for machining thin walls and deep-cavity machining for automated splitting of roughing and finishing tool paths into separate Z ranges. A core roughing strategy improves toolpath shape when working from outside a component, enabling the machine to run near its maximum potential when machining core components. An HM constant Z tool path complements the existing steep and shallow tool path, replacing 3D pocketing calculations with 2D projection calculations for shallow areas and reducing calculation times. A 64-bit engine is designed to increase performance and RAM usage.
