The IP67-rated LMB-410 Spar Linear Encoder provides measuring and position feedback with performance equal to a linear optical encoder, the company says. Operating on an inductive scanning principle, the LMB-410 is well-suited to machine tools, among other applications. The IP67 rating makes it ideal for contaminated or dirty conditions, including fluid submersion.

 

The adhesive-free mounting spar with a snap cover does away the risk of adhesive-backed spars becoming loose in oily environments. The encoder head is equipped with wipers to clean the spar scale during operation. Encoder head auto offset and gain compensation eliminate the need to use a test box during setup.

 

Rated for operation ranging from -40 to +120°C and offering ± 5 micron/meter linearity, it also meets high speed, high shock and vibration specifications.
