Allen Benjamin offers its line of HSSE premium steel, high performance, color-coded taps, which are designed to handle tough tapping applications in a variety of materials. Available in standard sizes, ring taps simplify tool selection for tapping specific materials, the company says. Most color-coded ring taps can handle several materials, and special designs are available to suit specific applications.
Each of the six color ring taps—black, white, yellow, green, blue and red—are manufactured with application-specific geometry and design criteria based on the characteristics and hardness range of various part materials. The taps are manufactured with high speed steel for increased tap life in challenging materials.
Available tap styles include spiral point, spiral flute, form taps, straight flute die cast and taps for cast iron.
