Compact CMM Measures Small Parts
Carl Zeiss’ Micura compact, bridge-type coordinate measuring machine (CMM) is designed to accurately measure delicate parts while maintaining efficiency.
As devices from the medical and electronic manufacturers become smaller, so do the components that make them operate optimally. Carl Zeiss’ Micura compact, bridge-type coordinate measuring machine (CMM) is designed to accurately measure delicate parts while maintaining efficiency.
With a Vast XT gold active scanning sensor for precision scanning, the CMM offers 0.9 micron + L/400 accuracy with low probing force. It can measure small, intricate parts for the optical, electronic, medical, aerospace and telecommunication industries. A measurement volume of 500 × 500 × 500 mm can handle a variety of small parts.
Wrap-around air bearings in the guideways provide rigidity and stability at maximum speeds and accelerations, while the guideways themselves are made of ceramic to provide stability against temperature changes and dynamic influences. A workpiece temperature sensor and temperature compensation increase measuring performance and productivity, and a dual-joystick display panel eases motorized control and programming. An apron surrounds the granite plate providing room outside of the measuring volume for the panel, tools and accessories.
The Vast XT gold active scanning sensor is designed to provide submicron accuracy with high-speed scanning rates ranging to 200 points per sec. It can perform form and length measurements, curve and free-form measurements, and reverse engineering.
