The Crashsensor ACS-3 is equipped with a multi-axis acceleration sensor, evaluation electronics and micro controller combined in one housing. The system can be mounted directly on the machine or headstock. The system is designed to monitor acceleration to various limits. If a limit is exceeded, the datalogger writes this information to an alarm recorder with the date and time. The recorder can be read out via a serial interface.
The system makes it possible to prevent machine damage and downtime resulting from collisions caused by machine or programming errors. The system also helps with securing evidence as to the adequate use of machinery components such as spindles and bearings as well as documenting (date, time and amplitude value) whether a collision event occurred.
