Highland DNC’s ShopLink Flash USB-to-RS-232 adapter enables transfers of NC program files to and from CNCs via flash drives. Users simply plug a flash drive into the adapter and load the selected program into a CNC. The company says that the product accommodates newer PCs and laptops that do not come with serial ports. The ShopLink Flash also serves as a virtual 2-GB memory upgrade for CNCs with DNC or TAPE mode. The company says that it is better than a floppy emulator, which is limited to 720 K or 1.44 MB.

The package includes the ShopLink adapter, a 30" CNC cable, a 12-V power supply and a 4-GB flash drive. The device is said to work with all industry-standard CNCs with an RS-232 interface, including Dynapath, Fadal, FANUC, Haas, Mazak, Yasnac and others.
