Originally titled 'Marking System Features Programmable Z Axis '
SIC Marking’s model e8c153z-a dot peen marking system features a programmable Z axis for increased repeatability and a lighted work area for improved operator visibility. The marking window measures 160 × 100 mm (6.3" × 3.9") for marking various surfaces on one workpiece. The tungsten carbide stylus assembly equipped with a patented “auto-sensing” feature is said to achieve consistent mark results especially when pass/fail grades of traceability identification is required.
To increase user-interface versatility, the e8 controller enables manual data input, and bar codes can be scanned to proof data entry through the host computer interface. Data files can be created offline and uploaded to the machine controller.
Other features include a cast base that increases machine life in industrial environments and a box enclosure with a light curtain optimizes user safety. Standard options include a rotary axis for marking around circumferences and tag feeders for high-volume nameplate marking. Custom fixtures and integration for turn-key packages are also available.
