Electro-Permanent Magnetic Clamping System

Magnos magnetic clamping technology can be used in conjunction with the Unilock quick-change pallet system to increase flexibility and to reduce setup times and cost. According to the company, magnetic workholding provides high holding forces and allows the spindle to access five sides of a part. Pole extensions that act as workpiece supports allow the user to position different workpieces rapidly and precisely, the company says, which improves the productivity of the machine.

According to the company, magnetic workholding provides high holding forces and allows the spindle to access five sides of a part. The magnetic clamping technology features electro-permanent magnets, which require a short pulse of electricity to activate and deactivate the magnetic field. The poles’ quadratic geometry provides a uniform clamping force. According to the company, reliable clamping, even during rough machining, is ensured by the high holding forces of the magnets. Different pole sizes of 50, 75 and 100 mm are available.
