Greenleaf Corporation now offers Excelerator mills, a line of small-diameter end mills engineered for hard milling.
Designed to excel in milling difficult-to-machine materials, the product uses the company’s ceramic inserts. The cutter bodies, shanks and insert clamps are said to offer solid performance at spindle speeds as high as 40,000 rpm.
Typical application areas include most hardened materials above 40 Rc, as well as nickel- and cobalt-based alloys. Specifically, hard milling applications in the mold making and tool and die industries; pocket milling; and ramping and helical milling are applications for which the end mills are suited.
