Those are the examples I wanted to present to you today. To summarize the purpose of today’s topic was to pursue zero defects in the manufacturing process. You can do that and make a more efficient, lower cost process, as part of the pursuit of zero defects through effective error proofing. This is something that lean initiatives would refer to as Poka-yoke processes.
I tried to present examples to you regarding the fixturing of parts, tooling that’s being applied to produce parts, the programming process and some of the key elements in your manufacturing process like the actual machining. This all gives you the ability to deliver good parts more quickly, at a lower cost to your customer and improve your global competitiveness and the bottom line. This is what we all want to be able to do to satisfy our customer.
