The Mikron HEM 500U high-efficiency milling machine from GF Machining Solutions includes a 10-position pallet changer and provides high-performance five-axis capabilities for efficient, accurate and reliable production. Suitable for cutting parts from aluminum alloys and steel, the machine features a dynamic, 12,000-rpm ISO-B40 spindle and a 30-tool magazine with a 2-sec. chip-to-chip time for high-speed continuous milling operations and increased spindle uptime. A 20,000-rpm spindle and 60-tool changer are also available.

A trunnion table measuring 19.7" in diameter and accommodating workpieces as heavy as 440 lbs tilts -65/+110 degrees in the B axis and rotates 360 degrees in the C axis for 3+2 machining as well as five-side positioning. The X-, Y- and Z-axis travels measure 19.7" × 17.7" × 15.7", while a distance of 5.9" between the machine spindle nose and rotary table surface improves maneuverability around workpieces. The Heidenhain iTNC 530 control for five-axis (3+2) machining features an integrated digital drive control with integrated inverter, enabling it to produce an accurate workpiece contour while machining at high velocity.
