SNK America’s HPS-120A five-axis profiler is designed for complex, simultaneous five-axis machining and contouring of titanium, stainless steel and other difficult-to-cut materials. The machine’s horizontal design enables chips to quickly drop from the cutting area, eliminating heat build-up around the spindle and reducing re-cutting of chips, thereby prolonging tool life.
Features include through-spindle coolant and coolant shower with large-volume coolant. An optional high-efficiency chip conveyor removes large quantities of chips. The table tilts to the horizontal position when machining is complete to ease work unloading and reloading. Twin-table APC models increase productivity by enabling machining on one zone while the other work zone is being re-fixtured with work.
Turcite-coated slideways damp vibration. The rigid spindle design features a high-torque A-axis spindle motor and a large saddle for the C axis to ensure high rigidity of the rotary axis spindle head. The spindle drive motor has a spindle speed range of 40 to 4,000 rpm and delivers up to 926.4 foot-pounds of torque needed for machining tough materials.
