Fives Machining Systems has opened a new Global Services Center in Birmingham, Alabama. This location joins five other North American service centers as Fives, headquartered in Hebron, Kentucky, expands to meet the needs of its customers nationwide.

The Birmingham center will house Global Services for the Fives Metal Cutting | Composites business line, which includes Cincinnati, Giddings & Lewis, Forest-Liné, and Liné Machines. The service center will stock spare parts, repair unit assemblies and dispatch service engineers for customers in the region. John D’Amato will serve as director of this service center. North American Total Care, from Fives’ Combustion machine business, and DyAG engineering services, from Fives’ Automation business line, will also occupy the Birmingham facility.

Fives says it believes that understanding its customers’ operations is the best way to offer them customized service solutions that will increase their return on investment. The network of Fives Global Services facilities is strategically located near customers so technician teams can quickly provide maintenance services to help customers reduce the mean-time to repair, increase equipment reliability and extend the lifecycle of their machines.

Fives Machining Systems has five North American service centers in addition to the new Birmingham facility: Seattle, Washington; Valencia, California; Ontario, Canada; Hebron, Kentucky; and Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.
