Reishauer’s RZ260 gear grinding machine features increased size with adapted components designed to handle higher loads and forces for grinding larger gears. The machine is designed for gears with an outside diameter of 260 mm and modules ranging to 5 mm.

The machine can be fitted with one or two work spindles. The version with two work spindles is designed for minimizing load times, and the version with one spindle is more suitable in cases where workpiece handling times are not critical.

When grinding gears with space limitations, the changeable profile grinding spindle enables use of a small plated or dressable wheel to grind gears using the discontinuous profile method. Both versions enable a fixed or CNC-controlled axis for swiveling the dressing tool. Compared to the fixed dresser, with which the tools are normally workpiece-specific, the CNC-controlled axis is said to increase flexibility of the dressing tool since the same tool can be used for a range of gears.

According to the company, all Reishauer gear grinding machines are equipped with the company’s Generating Module.
