Grinder’s Control Enables Customized Centerless Grinding
Unison’s Model 2150 CNC DedTru three-axis centerless grinding system is equipped with the company’s software and control to enable customized centerless grinding.
Unison’s Model 2150 CNC DedTru three-axis centerless grinding system is equipped with the company’s software and control to enable customized centerless grinding. Feed, infeed and secondary operations including plunge grinding, tapers and profile grinding are possible for parts ranging from 0.005" to 5" (0.127 to 127 mm). The grinder is capable of dressing grinding wheels in cycle, with automatic size compensation for wheel wear after dress. Both flat-wheel and intricate profiles can be dressed automatically during grind cycles. The grinding machine is said to be well-suited to preparing blanks for manufacturing precision cutting tools.
The machine’s control has the ability to store as many as 10,000 different part programs and 10,000 wheel programs that can be easily saved or recalled by the operator. The control station features a color, flat-panel touchscreen monitor and push-button keypad mounted on a swivel at work level. According to Unison, its EZ Software is simple to use and eliminates the need for an operator to understand traditional programming languages. The software supports importing dxf files from CAD software.
