Air Turbine Technology will demonstrate its 602XDT/625XDT high speed spindles on a FANUC RoboDrill. These units are part of the company’s latest generation of spindles for drill/tap machines, providing constant, governed spindle speeds and low vibration for high speed milling, drilling, profiling and engraving operations.
Direct-drive design enables drilling and milling with no duty cycle for 24/7 unattended production. Because the spindles have only two moving parts (governed turbines and air-cooled ceramic bearings), they do not burn up like geared spindles and require no maintenance, the company says. The 0.90-hp spindles can achieve between 50,000 to 75,000 rpm and feature automatic spindle load/unload capability through a spindle collar/block mounting system.
