Hobbing Machine's Integrated Automation Shortens Cycle Times
As part of Emag’s Modular Standard Machine line, the VLC 200 H hobbing machine features integrated automation and a vertical design to dry mill gears with a maximum diameter of 8" (200 mm) and module 4.
As part of Emag’s Modular Standard Machine line, the VLC 200 H hobbing machine features integrated automation and a vertical design to dry mill gears with a maximum diameter of 8" (200 mm) and module 4. To shorten cycle times, a pick-up spindle/turret loads and unloads the machine. The pick-up spindle/turret removes raw parts from the integrated conveyor, transfers them to the tailstock flange, and returns the finished components to the conveyor after the hobbing cycle. According to the company, the vertical alignment of the workpiece promotes unhindered chip flow, preventing the buildup of chip nests. The machine base is made of vibration-resistant Mineralit polymer concrete for stability and effective damping. An optional measuring probe can be integrated into the machining area for positioning tasks or the measurement of finished components. The hobbing machine can be used in conjunction with other Emag machines for high-volume production. According to the company, the modular system enables production planners to choose directional component flow, recirculating automation or the "chaku-chaku" principle for their manufacturing processes.
The other modules in the platform include the VL 2 turning machine, the VLC 200 H hobbing machine, and the VLC 100 D deburring and chamfering machine, all of which will be displayed at the show.
