With Schwanog’s PWP and PWP-D insertable form drilling systems, only the insertable carbide tool is ground and not the entire solid carbide drill, increasing efficiency and cost savings. The tools can hold minimum tolerances of ± 0.02 mm, and the wider inserts offered in the PWP-D line can reach drill diameters as large as 28 mm. The drill systems are available in various carbide grades.

Because the insert holder stays untouched in the machine during insert changes, setup time is eliminated. Other advantages include decreased unit costs, decreased drill coating costs and increased productivity, the company says.
