Schwanog’s tooling systems are designed for the manufacture of precision parts in the medical, automotive and aerospace industries, among others. The insertable tooling system performs change-overs directly on the machine. This eliminates tool preset, reduces machine downtime and increases productivity, the company says.
The system can be applied to applications such as OD and ID grooving, thread whirling, thread milling, single-point threading/turning and milling, broaching of serrations and grooves, form drilling, shaving, skiving and polygon turning. According to the company, the tooling system can be used on most machines including Swiss-type, conventional and multi-spindle automatic lathes, rotary transfer machines, HMCs and VMCs.
