In addition to the recently added thread tool, which measures straight “V” thread forms, the OASIS inspection system now includes the capability to optically measure external NPT pipe threads. The inspection system is capable of measuring to a 1 1/4" NPT (1.660" OD) in less than a second, the company says.
The system gives users real numbers instead of a “go/no-go” results common to ring gages, the company says. This enables users to know when their process is close to tolerance and adjust accordingly to avoid rejects. Designed to save time and money, the system enables process control on pipe thread production.
