Kurt’s rotary table workholding system is designed using the company’s DX6 CrossOver hydraulic vise with a trunnion mounted onto a fourth-axis rotary table. The system uses double-acting hydraulics for automated part loading and unloading via a robotic system. The system can also be used for manual part loading and unloading. This provides three-axis vertical machining centers with three-sided access to a part in one clamping.

The DX6 CrossOver hydraulic vise is manufactured with the flatness, parallelism and strength for critical high-precision machining, according to the company. High clamping force keeps workpieces rigid as they are machined on each side. The hydraulic vise features a ¼" jaw stroke. The vise body also provides chip evacuation at its sides and ends to prevent chip buildup.

The rotary table system features complete integration of workholding, rotary table and mounting base. The vise includes a GrooveLock jaw plate and workstop for convenient part positioning as well as a larger bearing pack to increase durability. A new brush seal design eases removal or replacement in the nut.
