Lead-Free Alloys Compatible with Regulatory Compliance

Mueller Brass Company’s EcoStream family of alloys and products are available in rod, bar and hot forgings. The products are a compilation of new and existing alloys and products developed for lead-free compliance. Instead of replacing the lead with potentially detrimental contaminants, the company says it uses compatible alloys that aid in regulatory compliance while coexisting with existing alloys such as C36000, C37700 and C34500. Since the scrap generated from EcoStream alloys and hot forgings are compatible with existing alloys, Mueller says that manufacturers do not need to segregate scrap or contaminated loads of brass turnings, which could lead to lost machine time due to machine clean-out.
