Milltronics’ 8200 CNC will be showcased in demonstrations on tool room, vertical, horizontal, twin table and bridge mills. The CNC is built upon a real-time Linux-based kernel, RTLinuxPro. As a result, the 8200 offers processing speed that is especially critical for high speed and multi-axis machining, the company says.
The 8200 features compatibility with all G- and M-code programs, as well as macro programming, auto routines, trig help and all of the benefits of conversational programming, the company says. A “Mill Away” function has been added for mid-program offset adjustment—especially helpful for 3D contouring operations in mold making. All electrical/mechanical and programming manuals are stored on the control for quick access.
The control’s user interface features wire frame and solid model graphic modes standard. By selecting the “Fast Verify” feature, an operator can run the program at 100 times speed. Both graphic modes look ahead of the actual machine position when executing, so the operator can see where the tool is going before it gets there.
File management convenience is enhanced with USB and Ethernet networking capabilities, the company says. Communicating shopfloor production data is simplified, because this control is compatible with the MT Connect communication standard sponsored by AMT—the Association for Manufacturing Technology. Examples of production data may include operating state, job numbers, part count, feeds, speeds and times, axis and spindle loads, tool life and more.
