Magnetic Separator Enables Diversified Waste Disposal

The DMD magnetic disc depurator from Losma features rotating discs to eliminate magnetic particles without using consumable materials. Dirty coolant flows through the system’s magnetic rotating disc group, which retains polluting particles. Then a blade scrapes the debris off the magnets and conveys it to the sludge chute to be deposited in the collecting tank. The clean oil can be pumped back to the machine tool or to an additional filtration process.

The unit’s structure can be changed from a fixed to adjustable chute by replacing the magnetic pack, which is composed of a tree, a magnet, separator disks and the related blades. According to Losma, the unit’s thicker separator discs increase magnetic power, and the reduced space they occupy enables adding more magnets into the magnetic pack for greater efficiency. Flow rates range from 50 to 500 L/min. for emulsion and from 25 to 250 L/Min. for neat oil. The system enables diversified disposal of magnetic waste and can be used in combination with other coolant depurators, the company says.
