Schunk’s Rota-S plus 2.0 manual chuck for high precision clamping features a manually actuated expansion arbor that can be quickly retrofitted for ID clamping from 20 to 80 mm. An optimized wedge bar drive system and an improved lubricant system ensure consistently high clamping forces and enable more aggressive machining, the company says. The Quick-Jaw-Change system is said to enable jaw changing in less than a minute. The three-fold jaw safety device prevents operating errors, and an indicator pin at the chuck circumference displays the individual clamping status. Additionally, the chuck can be equipped with a selection of modular center sleeves for closed-center sealing and adjustable workpiece stops.
