Visitors to Mazak’s Northeast Regional Headquarters and Technology Center in Windsor Locks, Connecticut for the recent “Discover More with Mazak” event had the opportunity to seek expert advice and receive application support in the growing aerospace and medical industries.
The company debuted three machines: the Variaxis i-700, Variaxis i-800 and the Vertical Center Universal 400. Other machining demonstrations included aerospace hard-metal machining on a horizontal Nexus 6800 HM package and medical implant machining on the vertical Nexus Compact.
In addition to technology presentations, the three-day event, which ran May 14-16, featured expert guests including keynote speaker Richard Aboulafia of the Teal Group, a company that supplies independent aerospace and defense industry market analysis. Mazak also presented its 3-4-5 manufacturing solution. Carrying the tagline "The Next Level of Productivity," the program uses the company's 3 levels of control, 4 levels of automation and 5 levels of multitasking to help users determine the right level of technology for their applications.
