Marposs’ Mida VOS optical touch-probe system is designed for use on large three- and five-axis machining centers. The multi-channel system consists of a receiver with integrated interface and a transmitter unit that is compatible with the full range of Mida touch-trigger probes. The system is available in both a compact and modular version for application flexibility.
As many as four transmitter/probe units can be used in an application with only one receiver. For machines with multiple spindles, two applications can be implemented on the same machine via simultaneous use of two probes.
The touch-probe system is designed to reduce interference, and it the modulated optical transmission system increases the operating range and transmission angle. Carbon extensions as long as 1 m can be used with the VOP60 modular transmitter/probe unit for reaching into deep bores. The system is controlled entirely by the machine tool via a simple PLC command. The receiver can be programmed using a remote-control unit.
