Mazak will debut the Integrex j-200S, a multitasking machine with twin turning spindles and a milling spindle designed to process oil and energy workpieces complete in a single setup.
Both turning spindles provide speeds of 5,000 rpm and C-axis turning control. The main spindle has a 2.99" (76-mm) bore and the second spindle a 2.4" (61-mm) bore. The main headstock features an integral spindle and motor to accommodate a range of applications, from heavy-duty cutting at low speed to high-speed cutting of aluminum and other nonferrous materials. The clamped C axis indexes in 0.0001-degree increments to deliver high accuracy. The second spindle also features an integral spindle and motor to ensure high efficiency machining for secondary operations.
The 10-hp (7.5 kW) milling spindle (optional) offers speeds ranging to 12,000 rpm and enables four-axis simultaneous machining and five-axis tooltip positioning. The milling spindle unit indexes in five-degree (optional one-degree) increments over a range from -30 degrees to +190 degrees, making it possible to perform outer diameter, facing and incline machining with the same tool on either turning spindle. Additionally, the milling spindle can be radially indexed and clamped so that the same tool can be used for turning in both forward and reverse directions, resulting in decreased machining cycle times and a reduction of tools within the magazine.
Machine strokes measure 17.7" (450 mm), 7.87" (200 mm) and 37.8" (960 mm) in the X, Y and Z axes, respectively, to support face milling, end milling and drilling above and below centerline without C-axis indexing. The machine is equipped with a 20-tool magazine to ensure continuous machining operations. The company’s Matrix Nexus 2 CNC simplifies the programming of multiplse surfaces and enables both conversational and EIA/ISO programming. The control also provides 3D machining simulations, time study analysis and the Mazak Voice Advisor, which assists operators during setup to make initial operations safer.
