Conformal cooling channels can be seen in this mold for a plastic golf ball. Building the mold through DMLS took 50 hours. The company says the cooling channels increased productivity by 20 percent.

This white paper from EOS describes how direct metal laser sintering (DMLS) can be used to produce mold tooling that improves temperature by using cooling channels that conform to the shape of the molded part.
