Midaco’s expanded line of pallet changers can adapt to machining centers with travels ranging to 150" × 50" (3,810 × 1,270 mm). The servo-driven, automatic pallet changers are said to reduce spindle downtime related to part loading and fixture change-over. They are also designed to reduce pallet change time.
Manual, rotary, “lift-off” and shuttle pallet systems are available in sizes ranging from 8" (203 mm) in diameter and 12" × 10" to 72" × 30" (304 × 254 mm to 1,828 × 762 mm).
The A30SD automatic pallet system can be installed on the right or left side (or sometimes both) of a new or existing machine center to reduce floor space. Once a pallet or load of parts is complete, the next pallet or job is transferred into the machine in seconds, the company says. Because all part loading and job setup tasks are performed offline (without the operator leaning into the machine), both productivity and safety are maximized, the company says.
