Midaco will showcase its A16SD series of servodriven automatic pallet systems for new and existing VMCs of smaller sizes. The series features a pallet size ranging from 22" × 14" (558.80 × 355.69 mm) to 27.5" × 16.0" (698.5 × 406.4 mm) and a pallet change time of 6.5 sec. One pallet can be loaded or unloaded while the other is being machined. According to the company, the series is designed to deliver productivity and labor savings for manufacturers looking to step up production in a weak economy.
In addition to the A16SD Series, the company will display its automatic pallet systems capable of fitting VMCs as large as 150" × 50" (3,810 × 1,270 mm). According to company, the automatic pallet systems exchange pallets in a few seconds with ±0.0001" (±0.0025 mm) repeatability. Larger systems can lift as much as 8,000 pounds (3,632 kg) per pallet. The automatic systems require little floor space, two M-functions, electric power and compressed air, and can be installed in about a day. Approved guarding enclosures, T-slotted tapped-hole pallets and pallet transfer carts are optional. Manual systems as large as 72" × 30" (1,828 × 762 mm) are also available.
