Amerimold – The Event for Mold Manufacturing - closed on June 18th, 2015, at the Donald E. Stephens Center in Rosemont, IL. The two-day tradeshow, technical conference and networking event featured more than 2,700 registrants representing 42 states and 32 countries. The registrant total included more than 2,000 attendees and 236 conference registrants.
The Amerimold exhibit hall included more than 150 exhibitors displaying products and services used for designing, building, molding and maintaining molds. This total included a record number of exhibiting tool and mold manufacturers.
"In recent years, more tool and mold buyers have attended Amerimold to look for capable contract manufacturers. Tool and mold makers have taken notice and are now using the show not only as a means to find product and process solutions, but to grow their business. This trend has produced growth and diversity in our attendee and exhibit base as more OEMs, injection molders and contract mold makers participate in Amerimold," explained Allison Miller, Director of Events.
The 2015 Amerimold technical conference again consisted of three related tracks representing the core processes involved in an injection mold’s lifecycle – ENGINEER, BUILD, MAINTAIN. More than 40 industry experts presented on technologies ranging from mold design and additive manufacturing to automated die/mold machining and advanced mold maintenance strategies.
Completing the Amerimold 2015 technical experience was the introduction of a show floor presentation given by Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s, Chad Duty on their Big Area Additive Manufacturing (BAAM). The open, intimate presentation format featured their latest rapid tooling and additive manufacturing processes for tool and moldmaking.
Two annual Amerimold traditions punctuated the professional networking offerings at this year’s event. Before the event, mold manufacturing professionals participated in penning the “Top 10 Reasons to Be a Moldmaker,” which were announced onsite via a limited edition “Top 10” t-shirt. Onsite, several hundred attendees and exhibitors came together to celebrate the mold manufacturing industry at the annual Leadtime Leader Award ceremony and networking reception.
Speaking on Amerimold‘s future, Miller commented, “In 2011, we committed to making Amerimold the event for mold manufacturing. Specifically, we wanted to connect mold builders, mold buyers and equipment suppliers in a venue that addressed more than just buying and selling equipment, but also included technical education, sourcing, business management and workforce development. The show has grown each year since and we are looking forward to developing programs and features that will benefit the attendees, exhibitors, speakers and partners involved in Amerimold 2016.”
