Machine and cutting tools reach their capacity on speeds and feeds as soon as they begin to vibrate. The vibrations are transmitted through the tool and lead to chatter marks of the workpiece.

The Power Shrink Chuck is designed to reduce the amount of vibration transferred onto the workpiece, thereby improving the capacity of the machine and the tools. It is suitable for both high speed machining and heavy milling. According to the company, using the chuck prevents the machine, tool and spindle from damage, while increasing productivity. The chucks are available in two styles. The short style features a gage length of 2.5" (65 mm). The long style features a large diameter near the flange and a slim nose diameter to offer versatility for deep reach applications. The long style chucks are available in gage lengths of 5.1" (130 mm) and 6.3" (160 mm). The chucks are stocked in CAT 40 and HSK 63A and feature the company’s Cool-Jet option, which allows external coolant to be delivered directly to the cutting edge via two small holes between the OD and ID bore of the chuck.
