Star CNC Machine Tool Corp will showcase its newest Swiss-type lathes, the SR-20RIV and the SW-20, along with a range of familiar models with enhancements that are said to provide customers in the medical, aviation and automotive industries with reduced costs and improved quality and productivity.
The SR-20RIV features a B-axis with live tooling and additional tooling for main spindle operation. In addition, its back-working, 8-station tool block features a full Y axis for independent, overlapping operation with the subspindle. The machine’s controls, additional tools and various options are said to streamline the machining process.
According to the company, the SW-20’s opposing, gang-type tool post, 8-station backworking tool post and Y-axis functionality enable users to have three tools in the cut for productive machining of complex components.
