Delcam will demonstrate its PowerMill Robot software, an integrated application of PowerMill, as part of a RSI Cobra robotic cell. The software enables manual and CNC robot programming to be combined in a single program for maximum flexibility. Other features include improved collision checking, automatic avoidance of wrist singularities and the ability to generate robot programs from tape files produced in other CAM software. With this software, robots can be programmed for tool-to-part or part-to-tool applications, making them ideal for machining large parts as well as grinding or linishing.

The 2015 release enables users to virtually duplicate teach-and-learn robot programming for linking movements. The programmed linking moves can then be integrated with the cutting moves to give the complete sequence of operations. This approach would be necessary in cases where there are additional objects in the way of the robot that are not included in the CAD model of the part to be machined, such as the clamps or fixtures. The range of robots supported by the software has also been expanded in this version.
