Zoller’s RoboSet features a six-axis articulated arm robot equipped with a force-moment strain gage and two pneumatic parallel grippers. The system enables fully automatic unattended measurement of tools. According to the company, the physical separation of the robotic arm and measuring device ensures accuracy.

The robot can load shafted tools onto the company’s CNC-controlled measuring devices with automatic power clamping. Specific loading configurations and parameters are defined using a pallet management function incorporated into the Pilot 3.0 software, and customized pallets can be set up based on quality control requirements.

After the measuring process, the robotic arm removes the tool from the presetter and measuring machine and deposits it in different pallets. According to the company, the system automatically detects defective or out-of-tolerance tools. Measuring values are stored in the Pilot 3.0 software where they can be reviewed or printed. An optional laser-writing device can be installed to label the tools.
