Self-Cleaning Filter Limits Downtime
The PRAB Candle Filter is designed to effectively remove fine particulate from spent oil in honing and EDM machining applications, as well as tungsten carbide tool, steel ball and bearing grinding applications.
The PRAB Candle Filter is designed to effectively remove fine particulate from spent oil in honing and EDM machining applications, as well as tungsten carbide tool, steel ball and bearing grinding applications. The filter uses a permanent media in a long cylinder that houses more than 10,000 thin membrane wafers capable of capturing grinding swarf ranging from 1 to 3 microns. According to the company, the filters are dependable and operate with virtually no downtime for maintenance. The self-cleaning, air-driven backwash system automatically clears the filter of dirt and debris, reducing labor costs, increasing efficiency and enabling reliable use during long production runs. Swarf and oil are purged into an external receptacle for easy collection and recycling. An optional chiller ensures a constant fluid temperature varying only 1° to 3°F to maximize tool life and part quality.
