Kyocera Precision Tools has introduced a line of polygon taper shank holders for high-rigidity and high-precision machining. The KPC series features several holder styles for turning, grooving, cutoff and threading applications.
The special polygon taper design provides dual contact between the taper and the flange face along with an even distribution between three faces on the sides of the flange. The design is said to create a rigid body with locational accuracy within ±2 microns.
