The company’s Six-Jaw Chuck is developed to offer improved roundness for turned parts. The chuck locates and pulls back on a workpiece in twelve separate locations reducing scrap rates to lower total part costs. For example, it can grip on twelve points of an out-of-round, thin-walled ring gear thereby distributing the gripping force evenly. This eliminates distortion of the part during machining. Parts are gripped and held securely to withstand the cutting forces generated in production machining, the company says.
