Marposs Corp.’s Ready2Probe application is designed to assist CNC users when programming cycles for measuring and checking components and tools using the company’s Mida spindle probes, lasers, Tool Breakage Detector (TBD) and Visual Tool Setter (VTS).

Icons and menus within the application aid users in the creation of commands and codes to generate the measurement cycle within seconds, depending on the machine tool part program. The software is said to reduce programming time and errors when generating G code, thereby improving quality assurance.

Ready2Probe is a Windows-based application compatible with a CNC interface or computer. Upon initiation of the application, users can interact with all of their Mida devices. The user then selects a calibration, automatic or manual cycle. The software prompts the user to input cycle time information and any additional requirements. A macro string is then generated from this information, which the user can copy or automatically transfer into a part program. The software also enables the user to write the macro directly into the CNC.

Use of the software is said to require minimal knowledge of Marposs measuring cycles. In addition to Windows compatibility, the software application is being developed for use on smartphones and tablets. Mobile applications are already available for FANUC CNC users running Android 4.1 or later as well as iOS 10.0 or later.
