The 2012 version of the PartMaker software features a module for simulating VMCs and HMCs, improved simulation for multi-axis turn-mill and Swiss-lathe machine architectures, more powerful surface machining strategies, improved visualization in programming and other productivity enhancements.

The Kinematic Machine Simulation module for VMCs and HMCs is designed to simulate the full architecture of milling machines, including workholding, rotary tables and tombstone fixtures.

The software also supports powerful multitasking machine tools by simulating Swiss-type lathes that support five-axis milling from a gang-slide-type architecture. The software update features a variety of surfacing strategies, including improved roughing and finishing strategies, which are based on the same machining algorithms found in Delcam’s PowerMill CAM system for manufacturing complex shapes.
