Tri-Tech Precision Products’ model 5414-R4 programmable spindle head attachment installs on virtually any three-axis CNC milling center to provide simultaneous five-axis machining capability. Designed to handle complex machining including full-five-axis profiling, contouring, boring and drilling, the attachment’s sturdy holding fixture enables quick installation time of less than 30 minutes, the company says. Its all-steel construction uses hardened and ground A2 tool steel in the central drive train and 17-4 stainless steel through the spindle and gear housings. High-speed options of 20,000 to 50,000 rpm are achieved through a mechanical (5:1) speeder or pneumatic spindle.
